Discussion about
http://streeteasy.com/building/12-east-88-street-new_york/5a?featured=1 Handsome facade, check. Separate service entrance, check. Entry foyer, check. Good looking facade, check. Well proportioned rooms, beamed ceilings, check and check. Separation of public and service space. Oops. That dining / kitchen combo is no more his idea than the Louvre's courtyard pyramid is mine. At what point of alteration should you stop calling it 'Candela designed' ?

I like open kitchen but this one is more of a fancy eat-in kitchen rather than kitchen and dining. I am guessing many who want separation will put some type of large sliding wall to have a separate dining area. It does seem to have two big windows.

Is there a single crown molding in that entire apartment?

Bunch of ungrateful whiners. Here's what a 3 bed 1650 sf apartment looked like just a few years ago: https://streeteasy.com/rental/452025.
or this 2 bed: https://streeteasy.com/rental/1128681
etc.

The only thing I'm whining about is the use of the Candela name to market an apartment that blatantly violates one of his design ideals. I can't tell what the floorplan was on the first link provided, but the 2nd clearly shows his standard of creating separate private / public spaces. Other than the open kitchen, I generally like the new floorplan.
