fake rental listings, shady building

Discussion about 376 Broadway in Tribeca
Have you noticed that every single rental listings in this building are using fake apartment number. None of the unit number is real. And all photos, square footage and number of bedrooms are fake. Especially the photos, it does not even come close to when you see the unit in reality. How dare listing agents do that. Very shady building. No wonder it is called Mandarin plaza.

I remember a scam in the 1980's where an apt. was offered for rent with an open house at which the rep charged something like $20-25 for a credit check as part of the application. Turns out that these open houses went on for months. Obviously, the scam was to pocket a credit check fee from dozens of potential renters at every open house. Way more profitable than actually renting out the apt.
