Discussion about
How hard is it for a plumber to sign off a plumbing permit? My architect says he needs this done before coming to inspect and signing off the job, but the plumber said he has never had to do this. I looked up his permits and all of them are open (status: ISSUED) and it's also true for a few other plumbers I checked.

There is no way a licensed plumber would say they never had to close a permit before. Very strange.

Do you know if it was an LAA? You can have another plumber come in and close it out but would cost anywhere from 1,500-5,000. It depends on several things.

Not sure whether it's LAA. How do I tell? I think the plumber is self certified. Primer do you mean it should cost nothing for him to close it himself? I'll check with him again.

Thanks for your help.

If it is an LAA, self cert, they should be able to sign off very easily at no cost to you
