I purchased a studio at Phillips Club II in March of 2017. The unit was a resale from a broker and the cost was $175,000. Monthly cost to maintain is $515 and the cost to use is about $40 per night. The unit is a fully equipped studio apartment with room service. In addition I have a personal closet on wheels which can be moved to whatever room I am assigned when I arrive. I receive 45 days per year in the form of three reservations of up to 7 days each. I can make one "annual" reservation in April for up to one year in advance. The other two reservations can be made about 2-3 months in advance for 1-7 days. In general I can always get a reservation if I plan two weeks in advance. For example if I have an annual reservation for Labor day weekend I can have another for June 1st to 5th and another for July 1st to 5th. After the June 1st occupancy one reservation become freed up and I can make another for August 1st to the 5th. After the July reservation is used I can make another from August 15th to 20th. And so on until I use my 45 days. Having a hotel room with all services, TV, Internet, linens, included and others like room service and laundry available is very useful. The system works very well and the employees are great. Just a a perk you get an Equinox membership for each day you are staying at the club. It all works very well for me. If I ever have to stay at the last minute and no club day is available I can always rent a hotel room, although it is expensive and the management tries very hard to get you a last minute reservation rather than making you rent a room. Also if I have guests and need another room I simply use two reservations at the same time so we each get our own room. If I felt I needed more than 45 days or more flexibility for rental days I would buy another unit. But I have not seen that need at all. I do not believe timeshares are good investments. I expect to own this unit for some time and hope to get my money back when I sell it. I had my own apartment which cost $36,000 per year and had no services other than a doorman. Parking in the area is expensive but the club has a deal with a local garage. The Lincoln Center area is great."
