Renovations....??

I would recommend NOT moving here. I am a current resident (for about 14 months), and can give you a myriad of reasons why. I can tell you that almost no resident is happy here. The building has been under renovation since I got here, and we stayed here under the premise that renovations will be done "soon". We have given up hope that "soon" will be any time soon. Shortly after we moved in, the rooftop was redone and open. It is/was very nice. It was also only open 1 season, and now closed for 2018 so they can use it as a launchpad for other renovations. Amenity 1 gone. We have a dog, and there is/was a dog patio. They closed it for "6 weeks" to renovate it. That was 5 months ago, and it won't be open any time soon as the other renovations won't allow it to reopen. Amenity 2 gone. So if we can't have a rooftop or a dog park, there is at least the ground floor courtyard....well, that's closed for at least the summer of '18 because of the renovations to the outside of the building. Amenity 3 gone. At least there's a nice gym....that you have to pay for.

The worst part, by far, is the elevators. That was the first renovation started in 2017. Of 4 elevators, each one was supposed to be done, 1 at a time, in 6 weeks each. 3 of the 4 were completed....then they broke! The process has been restarted! Turns out (if we believe what we're told), that the OTHER renovations caused dust which made our new elevators not work. So we are left with a 39 story building with only 3 working elevators at any given time, and most of the time only 2 are in service. PLUS, the workers doing the renovations also use these elevators, making peak wait times over 5 minutes. I've had several situations where I've had to walk down 14 floors because only 2 entirely full elevators came over a 10 minute period. On multiple occasions I've been part of a 15+ person line in the lobby waiting for an elevator.

And speaking of more renovations....there is damage to the exterior of the building, meaning for at least the next few months, workers are going up and down outside the windows, taping blue plastic to many windows at a time, and hammering and drilling the exterior. I bought a decibel meter and measured INSIDE my apartment during work. It reached over 80 decibels for hours at a time (I have videos). For reference, standing next to a lawn mower is 85-90 decibels. If you're at home during a weekday, you will go insane.

Management regularly sends out updates with hopeful deadlines, that nearly always pass without the work being done. 1 last note....our washing machine leaves stains on our clothes. We reported it to management about 3 months ago. They sent a worker who basically said, there is no broken parts, but your machine is just a piece of crap. We have yet to receive a new one, or even a communication about it. This building is beyond frustrating, and I had to start this thread. Please speak to some residents before you sign a lease here, they will be more than happy to tell you how bad it really is.

Planning on moving in here on a high floor facing the side street, looks like they are mostly done renovating, we were able to access the gym and roof during the tour on a winter day. Lobby looks great and the only thing left that’s almost done renovation is the club lounge area. Elevators seemed to be pretty slow still though. Any current residents still feel the same way about the building?
