Discussion about
Does anyone know this? Thank you. For famous brands like Poggenpohl, Scavolini, Boffi etc, what is the price range per linear ft for base cabinets with doors but no drawers? IKEA is appx $100-150 per linear ft for base cabinet without drawers depending on the door.

I never asked for a linear ft price from the higher end companies but very hard to compare to Ikea just for the fact Ikea's boxes still have to be put together

Scherr's come knocked down as well. I see the benefit in paying for very nice doors, drawers, Hardware, hinges, Etc. But I'm not sure I see the advantage of a high-end company's boxes once you get past the point of a well-constructed plywood box with a high grade veneer interior.

Primer, Thank you. How much does it cost to put together IKEA kitchen say 10x8?

30, IKEA is particle board with melamine but apparently works well as per comments on other threads. I do not know where to get veneered plywood boxes with veneer which are in stock or available in less than a couple of weeks. I am trying to explore local made but no one has less than 6 weeks lead time which really means 8 weeks.

For my next project, I am really trying to buy local high quality but need it fast (4 weeks or less). While I explore local, I wanted to get a feel of pricing of expensive brands so that I get a suitable discount for a lack of brand and finesse.

I know in the past I got stuff full custom from Scherr's in that time frame by paying an upcharge for expediting the order.

300 Mercer,

Cant answer how much it costs to install as it depends on many variables. When we do custom Ikea we use a nice amount of panels and if its custom its a lot more work than just putting them together.

If you plan correctly you can get cabinets in 4 weeks. Are you including time for design and shop drawings? After approved drawings 4 weeks is totally possible

Thank you Primer. I did find some people locally who would do it in 4-5 weeks post design but they are not cheap.

Response,

If you can find a cheap custom mill shop then they are doing something wrong.

European kitchen companies don't list their prices on a per-piece basis. Once a design is created they quote the entire project, so it's difficult to come up with a lineal foot price for a box with a door on it.

For what it's worth, even Poggenpohl has standard dimensions they work with for both width and depth, and anything outside of their set offerings comes at a premium.

If I recall correctly, Poggenpohl has their doors grouped into seven price buckets... laminates at the bottom, things like backpainted glasses at the top, with a significant spread across the range.

Primer, I am looking at the pictures of your project again. Very beautiful indeed. Is it Ivory Oak from Shinnoki? What type of stone is it? Thank you.
