Discussion about
I'm curious how others feel, would you feel comfortable purchasing and living in an apartment that was on the same street as an SRO building?

Are you for real? It not like SRO is a homeless shelter. What matters is how the blocks feels and if there are multiple bars, other noisy establishments like a commercial loading area, drugs or other type of undesirable activities.

I lived next door to a brownstone in pre-gentrified Park Slope that was an SRO (8 units). Never any problem other than the owner's noisy dog.

300_Mercer, I'm not judging, I'm simply asking opinions. Of course taking all other types of undesirable activities into consideration. Thank you for your experiences and thoughts.

SRO would be very-very low on the list of negatives if the SRO property is reasonably maintained. I would ignore it for most practical purposes. Chances are high that it will be converted to a single family home at some point of time.
