Discussion about 455 Central Park West #M7
Very unique. Not saying the price is right given the maintenance and taxes for the location.

It's certainly unique and love that it has a WBF. Not at all crazy about current owners' decor choices, which seem fully out-of-whack with the grand, old-world style of the space (and may be hindering its first-impression appeal somewhat).

Those monthlies are a two-fisted beating though.

I lived very close to this project and viewed a few apts. Tower portion offers good layouts and views but historic portion does not - original ultra-high ceiling heights cut in half, rounded living rooms and bedrooms and little in the way of park views. Project was a failure when first built around 2000 and the developer ran out of money. Then something like half the tower was sold to Columbia which allowed the developer to finish renovating the historic portion. Quite beautiful on the outside but quite disappointing on the inside. The "private garden" for this unit faces the street and is not private at all.

I used to store my car in their underground garage and even the garage operator failed to make any money so they left and another company took over.

Interesting fact - the round rooms were considered by the hospital to be more sanitary as there were no corners to attract germs. They marketed this project as a former nursing home but it originally was built as a cancer hospital and at the time cancer was considered highly contagious. An odd period of time in health care.

Looks cute from the outside, but I wouldn't want to live inside.
