I previously submitted an application for this apartment and was incessantly harassed by the assistant to the broker, Pamela Rogel, whom is not even licensed. She continuously harassed my partner and I because she found out we were looking at other apartments. We did not sign any contract that we would A. no longer look at other apartments, B. sign the contract if we got approved. The real estate market in NY is competitive, thus after applying for an apartment it is NOT illegal to continue to search for other apartments, even if your application is approved. After being harassed by Pamela, I was pressured to submit a deposit to her to hold the apartment. Often times this can be common to submit a deposit to hold an apartment. However, if you choose to not proceed that deposit is refundable, unless otherwise SIGNED UPON in a contract. Moving forward, after the inappropriate communication exhibited by Pamela ensued, we naturally no longer wanted to proceed with the apartment. After notifying Pamela, she threatened to invoice us a broker fee, which we DID NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT that would allow for her to do so. She also threatened to tamper with our credit scores with the official documents that was submitted to her for the standard application procedure. THIS IS ILLEGAL AND MORE SO BECAUSE SHE IS NOT LICENSED. She continued to harass my partner calling non-stop and texting non-stop. She now, will not return the deposit. So in other words-- PLEASE DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!! IT WAS A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THEM! BEWARE! [less]
