Discussion about 885 Park Avenue in Stuyvesant Heights
When you are viewing the building and apartments, the brokers present the building with lots of amenities and perks, but once you move in you learn that you are paying thousands of dollars to live in a trash pile. When you are viewing the building and apartments, the brokers present the building with lots of amenities and perks, but once you move in you learn that you are paying thousands of dollars to live in a trash pile. The building took 5+ years to try to resolve a package theft problem. The building tenants literally had to make a Tenant's Association in order to get the issue addressed and packages are still being stolen regularly. DSA - Yehuda (the guy you will be dealing with if you have any issues with the building or your apartment) has a terrible temper and it's impossible to even get a word in edgewise with him. DSA does not allow you to email them, which is completely ridiculous but makes sense since they are doing it as a legal precaution because they are such a terrible business that they probably have to deal with tons and tons of lawsuits against them and they don't want any written evidence presented against them. I would have moved out 3 months after moving in, but financially couldn't afford it. They had 2 months worth of rent held up in security deposit, so I was pretty much stuck... just where they wanted me. I have not spoken to a single person at 885 Park Ave that has had a good living experience here, so save yourself the time, money, and headache and just don't move here. And, if you currently live here, I am sorry. I can't wait to get out! [less]
