Seems Like Good Value

The location across from Met Museum seems good and the units seem to trade at about 1250/s.f. with reasonable maintenance. Does anyone have any insight into this building--pros and cons? Thank you.

Are you saying fully renovated units with park view or units needing a gut reno facing the back trading at $1250?

Actually, it's not a park view building, though the address is Fifth Ave. If you look at the building, the entrance is on Fifth--right across from Met Museum--but you walk into a courtyard and there are two buildings which front 83rd St and 84th St respectively. There is a cut-out on Fifth Avenue. Hard to describe further if you're not familiar with the building or don't look carefully.

It is about the most "un-Fifth Avenue" 5th Ave building.

300,
Even the front facing units don't have park views.

Yes. The building next door 1020 Fifth, a prestigious Central Park view building, trades at around $5,000 per s.f.

Ahh, they just bought entrance space from fifth avenue. The building is not really fifth avenue.

1025 Fifth Ave. is a beautiful building. The Lobby area is modern and bright. The Plaza and lobby look directly at the main entrance of the Met, with side views of the park. The interior courtyards are quite beautiful and provide nice buffer to noise. The units facing the courtyards are very quiet and peaceful. Yes, it is a Fifth avenue address without "direct" unit views; mainly because the building is directly across from the Met.

The two buildings flanking each side of the 1025 main lobby / entrance appear to be part of the 1025 building, and they are two of the most beautiful buildings on Fifth Ave. The lobby is, IMO, one of the nicest I have seen in my search along Madison, Park, or Fifth Ave. on the UES. Parking Garage for residents at $320 per month is a huge plus for anyone with a car or need for storage. Lobby and Elevator staff are all wonderful.

Some of the units do face directly West with beautiful Central Park views. This is because the Marymount school is in front of the North building, and it is low. There are lovely apartments on the 11th floor with terraces overlooking the park and spectacular views. The interior views are just okay. But some of the apartments were designed with extended corners, offering glimpses of the Met or the Park.
