This is NOT a full-service doorman building as advertised. The doorman are merely attendants who are rude and unhelpful. The building's "package room" is only open 7a-7pm and until 5pm on Saturday's. After that there is NO way to get packages. And packages that aren't left in the package room are left completely unattended in a hallway that anyone can walk in and out of.

You want your package at midnight for $3200 rent for a 1 bedroom (just going by the current listing as an example of rent)?

I thought the promise of all this new technology was that we would be able to work from home and be there when the package is delivered. I bought a place with a balcony specifically so the drone would have a secured drop off spot !

I would like some one to deliver my package inside my apartment, open them and discard packaging in a environment friendly manner. Otherwise it is not a full service building.

I blame it entirely on the rise of the industrial society, which significantly contributed to the decline of domestic service as a career path. Tech startups are attempting to reinvent personal service (Uber = your chauffeur; Task Rabbit = your p.a./ general factotum; Blue Apron = your cook), but they really fall short, in part because 'tech' isn't the element of the service that is missing.

I remember at one time hearing an expert in the hotel industry say that there will never be a truly 5 star hotel in NYC because for a true 5 star hotel you need something like 3 hotel employees per guest so you can only find them in nations where people are working for low wages (which I was reminded of when watching Big Bang Theory and hearing Rajesh Koothrappali talk about how many servants his gynecologist father had in their home).

Seriously, the service in this building is unbelievable! Every time we mention something to the doorman, it is attended to immediately! I mean they say we'll send someone right up and they do!
The renovated apartment is beautiful. The hallways are beautiful. The old world mailroom is beautiful. The circular drive is extremely convenient.
