Discussion about
Hi everyone. Wondering if some of you may have any suggestions - I'd like to rent a home for the summer months, maybe on the Hudson or a near by town close to Manhattan . Some place where we could easily take a train, as I do not have a car. Open to beach rentals as well, but not the Hamptons. Thanks!

Warwick, NY for country. Ocean Grove, NJ for beach.

I love Ocean Grove. Long Beach, LI, fits your criteria as well.

Many of the Hudson Valley towns, while RR accessible, will require a car for shopping and doing other things (there's just not much there in many of the downtowns). Second the Long Beach LI suggestion.

Not sure what the rental market is right by the center of town, but Cold Spring has a small but viable downtown within walking distance of the Metro North station
