Discussion about
I want to find an apartment with my boyfriend. We’d really like to move in with each other. We’re facing a weird situation. I make a decent salary of ($120K) but have pretty bad credit (580) that I’ve been working to improve. He makes about half as much ($60K) but has a great credit score (720). We’ll both be on the lease. Do you think my salary and his credit score is enough to let us rent an apartment without a guarantor? Thank you!

Hard to answer without a) knowing what's in your credit report b) price of the apartment you are considering. But, if everything else looks great (employment history, financials, etc..) then I can see extra months of security to get you in. You can always insert an intro letter explaining the circumstances of your credit to the landlord and see if that wins them over. Good luck

If you would want a better chance of getting an application accepted for a rental I would recommend having an agent put one together for you.
