Discussion about
Hello. I have a condo with a concrete ceiling. I'm looking to create a false ceiling with drywall sheets about 3" in height and install lighting because I don't want to see the pipes and wiring and such, maybe do ultra thin recessed lighting. Is there any code for a ceiling like this?

No code against it as long as the final ceiling height is adequate. However, you may just want to create soffit around the perimeter of the room to keep your existing ceiling height.

TycoDTX, you need to get all kinds of permits, filings, alteration agreement, license and insurance for the electrician, tips for building staff, and much more sh1ts

even if you just want to install a light bulk,
you still need to go through all of these
