Discussion about Knox at 49 East 34th Street in Murray Hill
I've lived here for 3 years and just moved out last week. In the beginning, this place was amazing. I've lived here for 3 years and just moved out last week. In the beginning, this place was amazing. Great staff, great super, excellent management, but once the building was sold that changed very quickly. Management was horrible for quite a while, though they have become much better in the past few months. Then the original super, Sammy, left and everything just went south. They've had 3 superintendents since and none of them have been up to par at all. I didn't even meet the current super until about a month after he started. And the very few times I have spoken to him he seems like he would rather be somewhere else. Morale in the building is extremely low and the whole vibe is just totally different. All of this played a huge factor in me leaving the building. I wouldn't recommend this building to anyone, not in the shape it is now. I love and miss the staff, but you can tell even they are at the end of their rope with this place. [less]

Almost sounds like the story of families who buy/open franchises (Dunkin Donuts, Popeye's, etc) and once they get them established sell them off to people who have never run a business here before (pretty sure this recently happened at the newish Popeye's on 8th Avenue and 23rd St because not only did the entire staff appear to be different, but the cashier didn't even know what I asked to order - which has been the exact same order at 3 different Popeye's locations in Manhattan for the last 5 years - was on the menu).
Popeye's for the last 5 years and Dunkin Donuts? Have you had your cholesterol checked lately? Your posts show you to be a brilliant man (woman?), so you want to stick around for a while. I must admit, however, that Popeye's is the best fried chicken ever. Sorry for the diversion.
