Could you even fit a bed into this unit?

The placement of the sink/fridge unit makes me think there's no way a bed of any size could make it in. It's also definitely much smaller than 200 sqft. Other apartments in this building seem to be of a decent size. Is this an office unit they're trying to rent out as a residence?

Based on records of the building looks like it is about 400+/- sq.ft
Would be better off pitching a tent on the roof

The building is a former hotel so there are awkwardly chopped up floor plans.

Former may be a misnomer because it obviously still is a transient space. My favorite thing about this unit is having four! lucite chairs so a group of very low-rent consultants can stay up late on a deck before retiring.

Executive Plaza has been a mostly investor condo since the 1980s. It's one of the few buildings I know that has an official policy of allowing leases as short as 30 days.

I'm trying to figure out if the people in the photo are virtually staged.

8.5% of all units currently listed for rent. That seems like a lot.

For $1500 seems very good deal. Basically futon type of bed (perhaps only full size rather than queen), desk and chair, microwave, hot plate and sink. Perhaps a little half fridge somewhere.

I could totally live there. My husband, not so much.

It is the former Taft Hotel. There's a great book, "Hotel Kid," about a boy whose father managed the hotel for many years. It's a great read, especially for those of us interested in New York, "the way it used to be."

I think owners at Executive Plaza may be about to cash in, big time. Given the number of firms that are strongly hinting that they're looking at 50% office occupancy going forward, a little pied-a-terre for somebody who has to come into town only occasionally may make these units a hot commodity. (and maybe Tudor City as well)

Aaron, I think it is a very nice crash pad for few nights a week indeed. Full time living will be a little rough.

If someone has relocated from NYC due to recent events I'm really not sure this is where they would elect to stay on the occasions where they had to be here.

Would you want to be in a 440 unit condo, very small units, shared with a hotel, which allowed tons of short-term subletting, if you were the same type of person WHO LEFT THE CITY over the concerns you had living in your old building which odds are was a significantly less risky situation? It seems like an out of the frying pan and into the fire situation to me.

Add to that since it's very low owner occupancy it's fairly obvious they are spending money out of the condo budget to be on the cutting edge of anything.

Looks like you could fit a twin bed where the sofa is. I'm not seeing a closet.

I think they would do better with this unit if they took the current furnishings out and rented it unfurnished OR just invested in upgrading. I cannot imagine anyone other than a young financial anlayst who plans on living in the office being okay with this set up.

In all fairness to the building, there are some nice looking, though small units. Consider 1407 (tiniest kitchen area ever), or 1510 (with a pillow that does scream 'trick pad' ).
