Discussion about
This is our second year in the apartment and we signed our lease last week for a two year term. Yesterday the storms in Manhattan brought heavy rains coupled with debris filled gutters equals flooding from the roof. The egress to roof caved and water came pouring down the 4 floors of building in commons stairwell. We immediately called Super and Management Co for help along with other neighbors. Floors are still soaked since 4pm yesterday - no clean up in sight. Since we do not have our countersigned lease back and we have a potential mold / slip and fall hazard at our front door - do we have ability to void or cancel lease since it has been 24 hours with no remediation action in effect?
