Desirability of UES avenues (Lex through York)

Discussion about
I think it's well known that on the UES, the avenues of 5th, Madison, Park, and East End, are considered highly desirable. How about the others, and how do they compare to one another? For example, is Lex more desirable than 3rd? With the subway now on 2nd, how does 2nd compare to 3rd? How about the sleepy and faraway York?

This is all block-by-block and building-by-building. How close are you to hospitals (and their sirens) vs schools vs subways vs shops and restaurants? Different people will make different trade-offs. What works best for your lifestyle?

When I was renting, I lived on 2nd Avenue, and it was incredibly noisy late nights because there were many college kids living in the area. It was fun (before COVID), but be warned that unless you are a night owl yourself, you will be quite frustrated.

Although I believe this has changed somewhat recently, historically the market was West of 3rd Avenue vs Not West of 3rd Avenue, with some carve out for Sutton Pl and East End Ave buildings.

And in the old days the line was East of Lex.
