Food, Culture, Finance... London hands down.
London weather sucks, but Chicago sucks worse.

Are you actually being serious here?

London's even a much better city than NY (except for beaches and mountains). And London's weather is nicely neither too this nor too that; in the past decade or so it's even been very sunny.

The only caveat to this is that you must live in a very central London locale . . . it's too sprawly.

And food. And finance. And fashion. And chicks. And healthcare.

(the exceptions list is going to get quite long).

London. Chicago has nothing. It merely exists to be mocked.

I once went to Chicago and enjoyed it. Pleasant people and a couple good record shops.

Chicago is a pleasant enough place to stay for a week at a time. London has endless places to go and different areas to explore. The weather isn't terrific in either place. London is more expensive to live in (I've done it, but only visited Chicago), but worth it. What was that quote? "when you are tired of London, you are tired of life."

brainwashedconsumer, you once went to this place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago,_Western_Cape

But the other people on this thread are talking about the Chicago that near and peer to Wichita, Topeka, and Tulsa.

Snoop, surely New Yorkers are worldly people, and care about the rest of the world, and of course New York is full of people from all over the planet?

Do we have a disliking for Chicago because Rufus is from there?

Alanhart, the Western Cape is gorgeous. :)

Rufus, will you not get drawn into this debate ol' boy?

London hands down? London is the most overrated city on earth. The city has no major attractions, it is only relevant because western culture is reminded of its history. Chicago has over 60 million tourist a year, twice that of London (30 million). Chicago has many world class venues, has many attractions and theme parks in its metro. London has nothing like Chicago! Chicago's downtown and gold coast put the most developed areas of London to shame! I've been to both, and Chicago definitely has more to do! London is a disappointment, it is all hype...
