the conflict is the other way around, my supporting a development that has what i feel is unreasonable underwriting standards just to get advertising. i've been on here for years talking about the dangers of new developments. i haven't really done so over the last year or so because the fed reflation trade has been doing so well. but i still stand by what i said here about hsbc providing the loans, or anyone offering loans in a building that is not at least 50 (and i'd definitely prefer 70) percent in contract. and since traditionally resale requirements were around 70% OWNER OCCUPIED, potentially many buyers here and elsewhere could get screwed if they decide to revert to regular requirements.

i once spoke to a broker in about 2006, i asked him about the 70 or 75% owner occupancy rule. he said the managing agents mostly just lie. that might not cut it in the future.
