Discussion about
http://curbed.com/archives/2008/10/30/jersey_city_appears_to_be_feeling_the_hurt.php#more I know that Trump II building plan cancellation is old news, but seems like there is stilla chunk of unsold in I, despite giveaways.... And 77 Hudson is only 30% sold. And that thing is advertising like every 5 minutes on TV...

interesting that the development "Gulls Cove" was not mentioned. Any thoughts about this building? The un-abated taxes are downright SCARY!

well, they usually don't build luxury condos in 3rd world cities, so maybe that surprised you...

I took a bike ride along 9W a few weeks ago. The whole long stretch that I saw of the northern Jersey coast looked glutted.

If anyone's looking for good ride, skip 9W, but definitely check out Palisades Interstate Park (helmets madatory).

LIC = no future. Not even "a place with a great future behind it" . . . it never had a future.

plenty of places that are not Manhattan that are wonderful, these just aren't them right now and probably won't get there anytime soon, unfortunately.

Yes, that sums up my view as well.

And nobody might as well be rufus.

I was over on 37th and 10th last night for an art thing - the neighborhood- if you can call it that was gross but I saw a huge amount of construction going on - I was floored. Who is going to live there?

cccharley --

Back in my day, that area was called the Tenderloin, but then they built the Lincoln Tunnel and nobody really calls it anything anymore.

I hope the new construction has a good soot filtration system.

I was petrified to walk around there on the earlier side of the evening because of the tunnel traffic. Then when we left - at around 8 - it was so desolate
