This is just a heads up for anyone considering moving to this building. It is marketed and advertised as a luxury building with all kinds of amenities. However, there are many issues the leasing office fails to disclose, including: - terrible noise insulation between apartments, both on either side and the floors above - constant renovation and construction that should have been finished months ago - amenities such as a laundry room that was supposed to be completed in September but is still unavailable for use - unresponsive management - constant inconveniences such as the water being turned off during peak hours (5-10 AM on a monday morning, for instance) and maintenance needing to access our apartments for inspections regularly I'm posting this because we got suckered in by the promises and I never found any reviews of the building online, so I foolishly thought people here must be happy. Now we are locked into our lease and I don't want other people to be stuck in the same situation. The building is poorly managed and expensive to boot. There are better deals to be had elsewhere. Yes; that building is horrendous. Curbed did a post on it earlier this year about how bad it is. Sadly, this is typical for so many NYC apartments. Low quality, but high prices.
Cracker Boy, if you hate the US so much, why don't you just move to North Vietnam?
The "studio" apartments here look like luxury dorm rooms going for more than $2200/month. While they have private bathrooms, the kitchens are not separate, and there is room for only one major piece of furniture. Having said that, moving into a building undergoing renovation is asking for trouble in terms of inconvenience and noise.
rufus, are you the guy enamored with Chicago? Don't they have blogs in Chicago? Or do you prefer the community of NYC?
