I am looking for an interior designers on a shoestring budget. Can anyone provide any recommendations? So far, I googled Thread Collective and Area Aesthetics. Anyone have any experience with either design studio or have additional suggestions? Thanks!

They are very efficient and creative, and won’t waste your time or money.
Their contractor will give you an accurate cost from the beginning so you won’t waste time designing something you can’t afford.
Building and dob approvals went easy.
A designer I used, AT Interior Designs just started an online design business, in addition to her full design service. It's geared towards the budget conscious. Check it out. www.annietse.net.
Try www.i4-interiors.com. Very talented designer, great at project management and affordable services
I can also vouch for Margaret McClure Designs (margaretmccluredesigns.com) a new firm based in NYC. Margaret personally makes sure that your goals are reached, within budget.
Try www.hausinterior.com look for Nina she does amazing work!
Go to Chelsea while wearing something hideous. Plaid is a good choice for this.
Stand on the sidewalk. Whichever guy walks by and says "Tsk, tsk" the loudest, is your designer.
Nina at Haus interiors is one if the best designers I have ever worked with. I am not sure she will be able to do anything on a shoestring budget but I would give her a call. If she cannot and you want I will give you some other designers that might fit your needs.
I'm working with Susana Simonpietri from Chango Design (http://www.changodesignandco.com). I too was looking for an interior designer who can work on a small budget and so far she has been terrific. She is on the ball in terms of listening, really understanding and interpreting her clients' needs and tastes, and I am very impressed with her professionalism and integrity. I was coming a across a lot of flaky, aloof, and pricey motley cast of characters when I was cold calling designers so I think I found a diamond in the rough with Susana.
It was really informative. Your website is extremely helpful. Many thanks for sharing.
