Discussion about
What are some of the plus and minuses of the Time Warner Center? Which tower is better? Everyone please give your opinion on this development, I'm considering a purchase in the building.

common charges/ taxes are very high , but if that's not a problem area is great! convenient location with easy access to all public transport, wholefoods in the basement, lots of high end restaurants in the building, central park and lincoln center nearby. traffic can be a bit of a pain during peak hours around the circle itself due to surrounding roadworks as well.

For what it is worth, the southern tip of Central Park is overrun by tourists almost year-round and the neighborhoods behind TWC are not the greatest. Shopping there is plentiful, but it has also become a mecca for tourists. The Mandarin spa is great though.

I would MUCH rather own in 15 CPW. A much classier building.

Is there anything still available in 15 CPW? I thought it was sold out. TWC is great for the views though because residences start on the 53rd floor meaning no matter where you are in the building your view will be great! Service is also great. The subway is right outside. What is the best CONDO building on the Upper Westside?

Residences start on the 53rd floor - ouch! I guess I lived too long in earthquake country (Southern California) but I don't want to live that far off the ground. In case of ANY emergency, they can't get a ladder to your window... I'd be thrilled to come up for dinner, though.

View is everything in this city and we don't have earthquakes... when the seas rise 100 feet, you'll be jealous. LOL

I agree with the tourist mecca response. If you're looking for a real New York neighborhood with its own character Columbus Circle is not it. You are living on top of a mall. Great access to Central Park obviously. At that budget, I would personally rather buy into a brownstone on a tree lined residential street on the UWS right off the park. But if you love services and amenities or if you're looking for a second home TWC fits the bill.

I understand that NYC DOES sit on an earthquake fault line but, you're right, it's not too active.

It may not be a true neighborhood, but neither is central park south and the plaza isn't lowering its prices anywhere soon for its new residences. The central park south and columbus circle area are attractive because they are central to park, fifth avenue etc. So many people who aren't particularly family oriented seem to pay up for it I guess. Add in lots of amenities and it is perfect for such people.
