Discussion about
why don't you guys list properties also by square footage (most and least features too) and by maintenance fees (most expensive and least expensive too) in addition to the ones you already have?

also, it would be nice to have page #s in search results. you have to scroll through each page to get to the back. so, for example, if I sort by newest, I can see what's been sitting the longest by scrolling through all search result pages, but if I could click on the last page, it would be much faster. They do sort by biggest and smallest already though.

All good ideas. Almost all of the features we roll out come from feedback, so if you really want something: "Send us feedback":http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/feedback/beta

It would be nice to have your status box (number of saved listings, number of saved search, ...) updated dynamically. I have to log out and log back in to have it updated.

hey, I like those maps with list properties marked. Good job there....if you can also keep the subway station marked on the map as before, it would be more efficient/useful.....subway distance is also one of the factors influencing property value.

I wrote a comment on a thread but instead of giving me an extra line in the box it erased my whole comment so I gave up. However I see some lengthy responses so it obviously didn't happen to THEM. What's the deal?

You're totally free to put suggestions wherever you like. We're not exactly rigid ;-)

But "sending us feedback":http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/feedback/beta, will ensure that they get tracked and therefore better your chances!

Comment #8: Please change your tone, you sound like a high school kid. I did not see support_walker's comment when I wrote mine and posted it. He must have posted his while I was writing mine.

Amazing how much people complain about a site's features when it's free.

To comment #12: We're not complaining, we're helping the creators of the site to improve their product. I happen to write open source software that I release for free to the community. And I really appreciate constructive feedback.

How about have a box that shows the property's value 5 and 10 years from now.
It would really help us decide if the time was right to buy. Thanks.

This is definitely not complaining. We love feedback, especially when it's constructive. But you are right it is amazing how downright offensive some people can be when complaining about free. We've had people tell us how stupid we were because this or that bad data leaked through, or because we didn't have this or that feature.

To #12, we've written the future value feature, we just can't figure out how to test it ;-)

I am an app developer / UX designer for many years. If us users could only "X" a listing so that it does not show up again then you would save us a heck of a lot of time - people don't remember all the apartments they have looked at before when they go to the website and as a result we end up looking at the same apartment (that we have already determined we do not want because of some feature) over and over again, only to say to ourselves "oh yea, the door is facing the bed, this is a no no" once again, etc. You would save us so much time if you allowed blacklisting apartments - we'd have a clean search of only the apartments we haven't seen yet. There are a million ways to implement this, each with its own advantages / disadvantages I'm sure you can figure out one way that works well for everybody and improves the UX of streeteasy by a great deal.

The X-out feature would be a fantastic addition!

Don't hold your breath. Things on this site have only gotten worse since the Zillow buy-out of Streeteasy.

Most forums are meant for venting, not for real change
