Discussion about
Would appreciate definitions: classic six junior four triple mint junior MD (saw this in posts about the market) "C" line Thanks
Classic Six is typically a prewar apartment comprising a foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, two full bedrooms and a maid's room that generally has a small en-suite bath.
Junior Four is typically a one-bedroom apartment with a dining "L" off the living room that converts easily to a second bedroom.
Triple Mint is a meaningless Brokerspeak term, but generally refers to an apartment that is in either new or newly-renovated condition. It basically means there is no wear on any equipment or finishes
"C" line usually refers to a vertical column of apartments whose unit numbers end with "C", and which share a common footprint.
Junior MD could be meaningful in medicine or investment banking, but I don't recognize it as a real estate term.
I think the junior MD thing was from a post referencing young/new doctors.
blossom, it will help you when you count rooms to know that the kitchen is a room and bathrooms aren't. A foyer is half a room.
Brokers count total rooms/bedrooms/baths. Thus the Classic Six West 81st described above is probably a 6.5/3/1.5
(because the bath off the maid's room probably doesn't have a tub, but there's probably a full bath in the apartment -- whereas the Junior 4 is a 3/1/1, though it could be (hence the junior) converted to a 4/1/1 by walling off the dining alcove.
