Carolyn and her partner Ian McGowan make up the McGowan/Joy Team at Brown Harris Stevens. Carolyn is dual licensed, balancing her time between New York and Westchester where she is one half of the Tishelman/Joy Platinum sales team at Houlihan Lawrence. Her unique perspective and cross-market knowledge have served her clients well. Carolyn is a graduate of the University of Michigan – Go Blue! - with a BA in foreign languages. She believes in giving back, supporting organizations from New York's City Harvest to the international charities of Amnesty International and Feed the Children. She is exceptionally proud of her children: Julien, a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School and a Peace Corps returnee; Genevieve, working in sustainable development in London; and Philip, forging a career in music as a professional drummer. Carolyn loves music, travel slow food. She plays tennis in the summer, skis in the winter and tries to start each day with a long walk.
