Why did you post your most recent troll comment as Riversider and not as greensdale, hfscomm, et cetera?

And what does "really rocks" mean? Does anybody in the world of the real really use that phrase?

I just checked the map, and it looks like the river side is on the east side of Gr33n3 C0unty, and on the west side of C0lumbia C0unty.

Just when I thought you had all disappeared, here you all are! So, we are entering a new phase of our quasi New York existence: looking for a rustic cabin within an hour's drive if the city. Where should we look? We don't care about train or amenities; we want a place that is a nature retreat; one step up from camping.

:) Not quite. But the area is a great place to visit, and can be a cheap winter home for skiing or a summer home for cycling, fishing , kayaking etc, all two plus hours from Manhattan.

The skiing on the west side of the river is frequently frat central. Cheap cabin type homes that have been split up into numerous rooms for drunken parties. It's cheap for a reason, many actually. You can cycle and kayak in New York, even fish.

Novice, doesn't exist. Rustic and cheap is at least 90 minutes and you're now in the poconos or near Monticello, I believe. Or get a place in Brownsville/east New York. It might meet most of your requirements, and will probably have working plumbing and electrical.

She'd probably love it, but it's not rustic at all (the house, at least) and it's almost three hours to get there. The teenagers have flipped their positions and now love going up so I may just capitulate and put in the pool in the paddock and turn the horse barn into a pool/guesthouse. It's an expensive pain in my ass but it's a lovely one.

And the horses? Have they no rights?
Throw the teenaged out instead.

How tempting. The horse barn is empty, no hooved creatures to oust.

See if you can rent some horses from a nearby club, no matter how costly -- the ends justify the means.

PS -- The teenaged are hooved creatures. Cloven. Forked tail.

Can you take the Taconic to get to Tannersville? Are there a lot of deer?

You can take the Taconic, although it's not the brightest idea. I have no idea about the deer. Oh, wait. You weren't really looking for answers, you were only trying to demonstrate how clever and witty you perceive yourself to be.

It's a perfect word under the circumstances. As to the rest, no comment.

You seem bitter, do you need a hug? (see, derivative is just not clever)

And the two no responses were appropriate. Shall I come upstairs? No. Or do you want to come down here? No. Too bad you're too dim witted to realize it.

No, our weekend house is in DC, because New York is not hot or humid enough for us in the summer.

With the general guidance NWT has provided on other threads (not specific to me, bur rather re identifying an owner of any given property), I am sure you can figure it out, but I would appreciate its not being published on here.

Oh, I thought you were really asking where. When you say you live in DC, people frequently ask whether you live IN the city.

The two are not tied to each other. Why would you think they are tied to each other? You are one strange bird.
