Huntersburg or Greensdale? Wait. Never mind.

You tell me, which do you prefer?
I just visited Greene County. This place really rocks.
Why did you post your most recent troll comment as Riversider and not as greensdale, hfscomm, et cetera?
And what does "really rocks" mean? Does anybody in the world of the real really use that phrase?
I just checked the map, and it looks like the river side is on the east side of Gr33n3 C0unty, and on the west side of C0lumbia C0unty.
Well aren't you clever, being able to tell east from west.
Seriously Hunter , Windham, Tannersville...all great places
what was it specifically that attracted you to Tannersville?

Just when I thought you had all disappeared, here you all are! So, we are entering a new phase of our quasi New York existence: looking for a rustic cabin within an hour's drive if the city. Where should we look? We don't care about train or amenities; we want a place that is a nature retreat; one step up from camping.
so...the newest version of posting stupid you tubes. once again, what specifically attracted you to tannersville other than the terrain map?
:) Not quite. But the area is a great place to visit, and can be a cheap winter home for skiing or a summer home for cycling, fishing , kayaking etc, all two plus hours from Manhattan.
so...specifically. you like to visit tannersville. why? its cheap? no need to explain your affinity for that attribute. and its two plus hrs from manhattan? as opposed to?
Answer the question.
Or don't.
The skiing on the west side of the river is frequently frat central. Cheap cabin type homes that have been split up into numerous rooms for drunken parties. It's cheap for a reason, many actually. You can cycle and kayak in New York, even fish.
Novice, doesn't exist. Rustic and cheap is at least 90 minutes and you're now in the poconos or near Monticello, I believe. Or get a place in Brownsville/east New York. It might meet most of your requirements, and will probably have working plumbing and electrical.
aboutready - weren't you looking to sell your place upstate? Maybe NYCNovice would like it
okay - any recs within 2 hour drive? I am looking up Brownsville now . . .
So I looked up Brownsville. I told you I can never tell when anyone is joking on here.
She'd probably love it, but it's not rustic at all (the house, at least) and it's almost three hours to get there. The teenagers have flipped their positions and now love going up so I may just capitulate and put in the pool in the paddock and turn the horse barn into a pool/guesthouse. It's an expensive pain in my ass but it's a lovely one.
And the horses? Have they no rights?
Throw the teenaged out instead.
How tempting. The horse barn is empty, no hooved creatures to oust.
See if you can rent some horses from a nearby club, no matter how costly -- the ends justify the means.
PS -- The teenaged are hooved creatures. Cloven. Forked tail.
Can you take the Taconic to get to Tannersville? Are there a lot of deer?
You can take the Taconic, although it's not the brightest idea. I have no idea about the deer. Oh, wait. You weren't really looking for answers, you were only trying to demonstrate how clever and witty you perceive yourself to be.
Did you figure that out all by yourself? You are so clever! Good for you Aboutready! Good girl!
Derivative.
That's the best SAT word you have for me? Haven't you been studying with your daughter to get her into Yale?
It's a perfect word under the circumstances. As to the rest, no comment.
You seem bitter, do you need a hug? (see, derivative is just not clever)
I'm not bitter, but a hug sounds nice. Shall I come upstairs or do you want to come down here?
No.
No.
Aboutready, you are stuttering again. Shall I call your husband or real daughter?
No.
And the two no responses were appropriate. Shall I come upstairs? No. Or do you want to come down here? No. Too bad you're too dim witted to realize it.

NYCNovice, did you buy?
No, our weekend house is in DC, because New York is not hot or humid enough for us in the summer.
So, east of the Potomac?
With the general guidance NWT has provided on other threads (not specific to me, bur rather re identifying an owner of any given property), I am sure you can figure it out, but I would appreciate its not being published on here.
huh? Is there any part of Washington, D.C. that is west of the Potomac?
Oh, I thought you were really asking where. When you say you live in DC, people frequently ask whether you live IN the city.
I get it now. I prefer east of the Hudson and east of the Potomac.

The two are not tied to each other. Why would you think they are tied to each other? You are one strange bird.
