financial district questions?

hi streeteasy. quick story, my x-husband and I recently split. my 9 year old son and I are now looking to buy in a new area. our broker, who has been wonderful so far, today suggested we look in the financial district because we will get more then in chelsea or WV where we have been looking. can anyone who lives there please tell me whats it's like to live in the area and what buildings to consider? i think its a big change from what we are used to, but i could use the space and some advice. thx!
