I'm looking at a penthouse unit at HV and looking to put an offer in this week actually. I wanted to get some opinions of some people that actually live in the building as to their experience living here. I've seen every building in LIC (just about) at least twice and I think for the price, Hunter's View is a solid deal with excellent views (the Penthouse I'm looking at faces Northwest with a balcony that also lets you see midtown west unobstructed), a nice lobby, a 24 hour doorman, a nice lounge, a decent outdoor ground level common deck & pretty good finishes. Yes the gym is dinky but it serves its purpose - there are hardly any buildings out there with a pool, basketball court and luxurious gym anyway. Being over 75% sold helps from the investment standpoint as well. I also love being 2 blocks from the 7 train and 4 blocks from the waterfront. I've seen some comments about the construction of the building but to be honest my father is a structural engineer and felt the construction was pretty solid. There was SOME slight leveling issues in some of the ceilings in some units but those are more cosmetic than structural defects. The appliances and finishes are pretty solid in my opinion although this isn't even that important as you can always replace appliances, etc even if you were nitpicky. Anyway these are the things I noticed and would love to get some feedback from resident as well as others very familiar with this building. Thanks! [less]
