Hey all, I'm very close to deciding on a little prospect heights condo which is very affordable with its 15 yr tax abatement. The the unabated taxes are supposedly around $300, making this a place I could afford even if there were no abatement. However, I still want my apt to be attractive to the next buyer. Hey all, I'm very close to deciding on a little prospect heights condo which is very affordable with its 15 yr tax abatement. The the unabated taxes are supposedly around $300, making this a place I could afford even if there were no abatement. However, I still want my apt to be attractive to the next buyer. And I'd like continue hoping I can eventually sell at a profit. So what I'm trying to figure out is are abated condos good deals, or are they typically priced up because of buyers who think they can afford them. Should I be happy about the couple thousand bucks i save a year, or should I be mentally deducting that savings from the slightly lower price Ill eventually have to sell at?
