Interior Doors- Paint Stripper

My wife and I just purchased a one bedroom apartment in the West Village. The building was constructed in 1910 and is near Bleecker St. The Apartment needs a little TLC-- We have already refinished the floors, updated electical and painted. Our next hurdle will be to replace the 5 interior doors and strip the paint from the exposed brick. I am not sure if a 5 or 4 panel door is period correct?? Also- any tips on removing the paint are welcome
