It has been a while since I looked for an apartment in Manhattan. I am actually relocating from overseas where I spent last 1.5 years. Before that I was happily renting for 5 years in the city. The broker that my company is giving me says it will be impossible to find what I look for in my price range. Here is what I am looking for: UES, preferrably around 86th street or low sixties, not too far out east 1-bedroom (junior 1-bedroom would probably be fine, but no to just good old studios) elevator laundry No need for doorman Up to $2500 rent Any thoughts on how doable? I know broker should be able to help but I got some sort of vibe from her that makes me not entirely trust her. Also, what's everyone's view on negotiating rent with management companies? Possible/impossible? I am specifically thinking of Bettina Any areas in Manhattan where good deals are to be had on what I am looking for? Many thanks! [less]
