Riverside Drive Highway Noise

My partner and I recently bought an apartment on Riverside Drive facing the river and highway. We were so in love with the view that we discounted the fact that the building is next to the west side highway. While the highway noise isn't awful, it's definitely a presence and something we're not happy with. But we just moved in this week. Is it common for people living on Riverside Drive to purchase sound proof windows? Do others living on RSD live without the sound proof windows? Please tell me your experiences!! Will we get over it?!
