Avoid 1 Dutch St

I'm a current tenant of 1 Dutch (or 45 John, depending on whether the building has actually registered this address with the USPS...). We were drawn to the beautiful layouts and finishes, as well as the spacious square footage. The price was great, too. I'm a current tenant of 1 Dutch (or 45 John, depending on whether the building has actually registered this address with the USPS...). We were drawn to the beautiful layouts and finishes, as well as the spacious square footage. The price was great, too. That said, the management of this building is utterly unprofessional and downright delinquent at times. A few examples: 1) We did not have working gas for months. They originally told us it would take 10 days (and did not share this info until after we had given our deposit). 2) We went weeks without hot water. 3) They told us the lobby and amenities would be done in 3 months time. It has been 4 months, and we haven't seen any work or movement on this. 4) The doormen and other staff are nice, but seem to have no experience or training. The building went more than a week without receiving mail, before the staff realized USPS had stopped delivering it. How is this possible? I could go on... The management team / owner seem to have little experience managing apartments, or are incredibly cheap / lazy. If you value a building with a professional and organized staff & a commitment to swift resolution of tenant issues (or if, you know, you like trusting that the building will do what it says), avoid 1 Dutch at all costs.
