West Village Noise

I'm being transferred to New York soon and I'm currently in search of an apartment. I've hit a sweet deal in West Village on West 11th between Bleecker and West 4th streets, but I'm concerned about noise. I'm coming from a big city, but I've heard the Village is a tourist mecca and gets quite the noise. I'm ok with the occasional car passing by or some tourists hanging around, but I really don't want late night party goers puking in front of my building. There is also a baby coming soon so I do not want to expose it to much noise. What do you think about that specific area/block?
