Beware of moving into this building. Unethical landlord who does not fix things (no lock on front door for weeks, no hot water for months, not fixing boiler in winter, good luck getting anything in your apt fixed, black fly infestation for months, multiple rat infestations, taken to court by city because not properly maintaining building--declared unsafe by Fire Dept in Nov 2017, Fire Dept staff stationed 24/7 in building (for 6 months!) due to violations & building being declared unsafe.) Have heard from other tenants vacated, that they were not refunded security deposits (also there is a post on 15 W64 board stating the same.) Landlord's staff/contractor Neland is also known to enter apartments without permission and when he painted my apartment, refused to put down a drop cloth when asked & then proceeded to get paint on an antique family heirloom bookcase (shrugging & laughing when it happened.) These guys are a nightmare & have no respect for their tenants. Its all about pulling money out of the building, there is no care taken for the upkeep of the property or even a consideration that they owe their tenants anything. Lifelong NY'r here, this is by far the worst landlord i've ever heard ot. Surprising considering the neighborhood, you don't expect to encounter a slumlord here. [less]
