Terrible. I lived at 150 Burns Street, a co-op in Forest hills, there was a mice infestation, I was told that by three different exterminators that I hired about six months after moving in. Terrible. I lived at 150 Burns Street, a co-op in Forest hills, there was a mice infestation, I was told that by three different exterminators that I hired about six months after moving in. On top of that there were gigantic roaches. The property manager (ORSID) only sent an exterminator every two weeks to do basic spraying. They said they'd reimburse me, meanwhile the shareholder wiped her hands of it, not only was I told that she's very cheap but I was even told to sue her by others on the building...never got that reimbursement. I paid over $700 in fees and for exterminators to cover any entry points and the shareholder had the nerve to say it was outrageous... unbelievable. Needless to say, those entry points are no longer covered, I paid for it, call me petty...but they're lucky I didn't sue. Good luck to the next tenant. Oh let's not forget how the shareholder came into my apartment without telling me, for non-emergency reasons and when I found out she had the nerve to respond with something to the effect of "I thought you'd be grateful, I'm sorry you're upset" like WHAT!?! It took them months to fix a moldy leak in the kitchen and at one point I was ignored for a month after complaining about mice. Quite honestly, I've never seen a co-op being run in this manner. It wasn't until I complained to 3-1-1 that they made any "attempt" to rectify. They started this bi-monthly extermination only after I yelled at them. The unit is back on the market with laughable description. It stipulates a garden and roof deck, which has neither. That unit went down to 52° in the winter and they did nothing to seal the drafts. The roof doesn't do anything, I rolled my eyes when I saw that description. The tenant before me lasted a month and I was told she broke her lease because she got an engaged, not sure if I believe that anymore given the nonsense I was put through. It's also not stipulated in the history of price listings which should raise some eyebrows. I should've been more cynical than trusting in that moment, hindsight I guess. I lived in NYC for 13 years and this the worst I've ever experienced. Sad part: it's in an amazing neighborhood, can't beat the Gardens... unfortunately the apartment I rented didn't live up to its name. This is a fair warning not just a rant, look for holes and entry points! Lesson learned...I researched the hell out of my next place including the property manager, the relief I feel is here is so comforting... [less]
