What concessions have you seen landlords make?

These seem to be desperate times for landlords. A friend of mine mentioned that hers was having trouble renting a unit that was vacated a few months ago and asked if I was interested. My lease doesn't end until March 31, but the landlord said he'd give me February and March half-price. When I told him I couldn't afford to pay rent-and-a-half for two months (nevermind not wanting to), he asked me to see if my current landlord would let me out of my lease a month early. Has anyone else gotten offers like this? Or other compromises that landlords never would've made a year ago?
