buying agent

I have a buying agent I've been consistently using for the past 2 months for the search in UES. He's relatively well established in the business and personality is fine. What I'm not sure about is, I'm always on streeteasy and find something interesting first, ask him to book a showing. He shows up at the appointment once every two times or so. I'm always solo in the weekends b/c he's away. He knows I'm serious, but takes almost no initiative unless I ask him to. Is this normal ? I don't consider my price range is that trivial. I will still deal with the ones I saw through him. But I'm thinking of switching to another broker. Do you usually make it official and tell him when cutting over? Thanks in advance for any comments.
