Discussion about 1600 Broadway on The Square at 1600 Broadway in Midtown
I worked in that building before it was converted to condos. Twin Cheeks was playing in the porno theater next door, to give you a sense of the era. Very difficult to imagine living there.
yes difficult to live in twin cheeks... sorry.. it's just not in me to pass up an easy one :)
I believe that is called misplaced modifier.
To itch their own...twin cheeks and all, but I can't think of anywhere on the island of Manhattan I would rather NOT live than the middle of Times Square. Hell's kitchen is great but Times Square proper can only be good for a corporate apartment or pied a tierre for a theater fanatic.
lizyank... "to itch their own." I like that :)
Does no one get what the porn film was spoofing? I'll give you a hint: "She's dead, Harry...wrapped in plastic."
w67th got it when he (or she?) said "difficult to live in twin...". it's fairly obvious. was the lead girl named audrey horne-y. what did she tie a knot with her tongue? i've seen (and made up during parlor games) better porn titles in my day. i've always been a fan of shaving ryan's privates even though i've only seen the title and not the actual film epic.
I thought it was pretty obvious, too, but given his penchant for over the top humor I thought w67thstreet was being a bit more literal. My apologies for misunderestimating him.
Less then or more then 400k? What do you guys think?
I think less than 400k and a great deal versus paying $250+ per night at a hotel. The only problem is that out of towners who stay in those hotels and corporate apartments always have a hard time sleeping in New York because of the noise and then they are inattentive and cranky in meetings. Moral of the story...Meet first, wine and dine Client send him/her home with a smile on the face and a yes to your proposal!
Btw, best porn title late 20th Century era: "The Spreminator"
I'll go with the under on $400k, unless they throw in the original studio versions of "On Golden Blonde" and "The Last Backdoor Action Hero"...then it will go for $600k.
