Discussion about
low interest rates, cash buyers, it is looking bright again !
So Annie, is this you:

?
In case you didn't notice, interest rates are rising, and still very high for jumbo mortgages, if you can get one. No financing for any new development unless it's 70% sold. Wall Street pay is going to be limited by the government - no more massive bonuses.
All good news for Manhattan real estate, no?
Thanks for that wonderful insight. I think you just turned me from a bear to a bull. Because of your penetrating and thoughtful comment, I think I'll go out and BUY an apartment today!
"low interest rates, cash buyers, it is looking bright again !"
yet another great example of an idiot employed in the RE biz
Wow Steve you are good! I thought she was a realtor too but I'm too new to the board to make that call--Thank You for doing so.
I thought it was ericho's girlfriend.
And since when do cash buyers care about interest rates?
report from the field: starter buyers are taking the plunge, and we just got two offers in on one of our low-end properties, but I don't see the high end moving yet.

Steve, great catch. Annie is hungry and her usual way of making money by simply having a pulse and showing up at an apartment is long gone. Now she must rely on her natural tendencies to lie and tell her buyers to bring checkbooks when they look at an apartment that has been on the market for 13 months.
Annie, you need therapy, and you need to go back to school. Trust me, it's for your best.

Steve, I don't think the woman in the link could be the original poster, because in her photo she looks like a clownish sleazebag.
i think low end (hate that term) are selling is because sellers are lowering their prices...larger apartments not so much.
as long as we get posts like annie's we are nowhere near the bottom. especially when they make stuff up.
Someting positive to aggravate ... you know who:

cfranch, I keep hearing this theory, but have to disagree - some people will always believe this, even in the face of a nuclear disaster. I'd pay attention to the fundamentals and trends rather than how many "bulls" are around.
If a RE broker has time to post on streeteasy, they can't be too busy.
Eine kleine Nachtmusik
sorry, couldn't resist
bjw-sentiment indicators are only good at extremes so yes this is probably not the best indicator now. my point is that when everyone has thrown in the towel then it will be a good time to buy.
stupid shill
Take it easy kids...it's not like she was being sneeky. More like hungry, board and, unfamiliar with the perils of soft peddling on SE.
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.aknyrealestate.com/” because Safari can’t find the server “www.aknyrealestate.com”. Too busy making deals to pay the bills, I guess?
Ali, you may be having better luck with your own starter properties, and I wish you well, but my search tops out at $700k and I'm getting waaaaaaaay more price chops and new listings than in-contracts.
Oooh, sign me up for a place in Cap D'Antibes!
tenemental, wrong address:

Steve, at that address it lists:

Active Rain looks like a group site for brokers. The link to her own site is inactive.
Well, nobody is buying apartments, so they have plenty of free time to troll...
"low interest rates, cash buyers, it is looking bright again "
I wish she would respond, this could be so much fun.
Hey Annie: who was the sales manager of the first real estate office you worked for back in 1989?
"real estate is happening again "
Broker Shilling is happening again
30yrs, you couldn't teach everybody everything, I guess. Was that at Sopher?
""real estate is happening again "
Broker Shilling is happening again"
Complaining about brokers while adding nothing to the discussion is happening again.
This seems to be the new thing to do when it comes to the RE, the economy, transparency, not hiring lobbyists, job growth (or loss prevention), etc...just say whatever you want and, magically... it is so!!! (fairy dust and tinker bell downstage, please)
NWT: yup.
"This seems to be the new thing to do when it comes to the RE"
This is absolutely not the "new thing" when it comes to RE. I don't know why this one sticks out in my mind so well, but it does: an ad touting "Location, location, location!!!!!!!" for a unit at 77 7th Ave.
> Complaining about brokers while adding nothing to the discussion is happening again.
How much can one add to a shill discussion? Would you like me to factually deconstruct the factless argument?
Did I hit a nerve?
True... last year I almost bought that East Harlem was the next SOHO.
Wait, its not?
Oh sh*t.
Who are these people? They are mean and ignorant.
Excelsior!
