Discussion about
Anyone know any good info about this building / coop?
Which one?
The first unit I ever sold was there. I like prewars, so it's one of my favorites in the East Village. There are two buildings, one on East 3rd and one on East 4th -- the East 4th Street one is preferred by some, partly because I believe there's a roof amenity that East 3rd has been talking about for years but still doesn't have. Some lines have Pullman (i.e. against the wall) kitchens.
Decent financials. Reasonable board -- although still a board. I remember fighting with my buyer's broker (Corcoran) who tried to send her buyer to the board interview without a tie "because it's downtown." (I won, and he was accepted.
Let us know if you have other specific questions, I'm sure 30yrs was selling in this building when I was in college.

If you put Ageloff in the Search Discussions field on the right you'll find 10 or so threads that mention the buildings.
One tip, when researching sales in the buildings, make sure you look at both addresses for similar lines/layouts.
thanks all.
30yrs: I am thinking more of 173 East 3rd since there seems to be more avail. there but would love your thoughts on either / both buildings. specific questions:
- How are the walls / floors? I once lived above a DJ from the Limelight and he drove me nuts. Don't get me wrong - I have lived in the village for years and like the street noise (sleep with windows open) but not the bass-bass-bass vibrations.... so I am looking for a place with really solid walls. Does Ageloff fit this bill? I have been looking at prewars for this reason trouble is sometimes the building is technically preway but the walls seem to be made out of balsam wood. When I ask the selling broker they always say "I don't know I think those are original walls" which doesn't seem possible. How to find out if the walls are the real pre-war walls?
- I have heard Ageloff is good but has problems with the pipes... lots of leaks.. anyone know if it's true?
thanks
