Very nice newly listed townhouse. They even added an elevator. I love the interior pictures and especially the wine cellar. But they paid $6 million in 2006, so a $9 million markup seems a bit excessive for the renovation.

Basement Mechanical rooms, storage, exercise room with rubber tiles with wiring for TV, laundry area, wonderful climate controlled wine cellar holds approximately two thousand bottles. Elevator

Garden Floor Double height entrance filled with light, guest bedroom suite, stunning eat-in-kitchen with 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 5 burner cook top, 2 wall ovens, subzero and 2 freezer drawers, Brazilian stone counters opens into double height family room with wonderful volume and walls of glass onto south facing garden with sound and irrigation systems. Powder room and elevator at this level. Heated floors throughout. Elevator.

A gigabit. I'd get interested under 10.

I'm impressed, modern.

That said, it does look pretty awesome.

I hate to sound like a rube but how many people have $15 million to spend on a townhouse-even with a Sonos sound system?

Wow...For this I might get past my aversion to what the West Village has become, assuming I had $15MM or anyhing this is likely to be negotiated down to (don't think it will slip into the mere seven figures). On the other hand it might just be TOO big for my needs, imagine trying to find the cats in all that space? And God forbid they got on the elevator!
But what an amazing house...although I would add a hot tup to the roof or garden, then it would be perfect.

I remember walking by when they were renovating. They literally took the back of the house off and rebuilt it.

"I hate to sound like a rube but how many people have $15 million to spend on a townhouse-even with a Sonos sound system?"

A quick search of Streeteasy indicates there are over 200 sellers hoping there are enough buyers who can spend $15 million. 375 over $10 million. 1,000 over $5 million. 3500 over $2 million.

$5 million used to be a lot of money.

What is scary, for $15 million you don't even get a finished roof deck, just the "plans" for one.

a) You only need 1 (lol)
b) I'd bet there are at least 1,000 people who spend at least a reasonable amount of their time in Manhattan who could afford it if they wanted to (and I'm pretty sure that is on teh low side)
