Discussion about
Looks like a beautfiful building. What do you think a high floor, two-bedroom could be bought for in terms of price per square foot? (See ad on Streeteasy.)

I think they will need to eliminate the minimum bid levels if they expect to a "paddle in the air"
Wonder whether we will be seeing more and more auctions like this in Manhattan?
There are some very nice parts of Riverdale. This is not one of them being right on the main highway and all.
also i believe these units have reserve prices above the minimum bid levels.
why are they auctioning just some of the units? couldnt sell? i noticed some closed at pretty high prices i wonder what an auction does for resale value or those that purchased some time ago this reminds me of how it started in miami
The project was a disaster from the get go. Another ill conceived luxury ghost tower. There are countless numbers of them throughout the city.
From what I hear the apartments are "totally cool" (from my 9 year old nephew). That said, a project like this should have been done by the water and away from the highway for best effect. It is also much more expensive than Riverdale can bear. This isn't a bad part of Riverdale but also not a great part of it.
I also hear the doormen will walk your dog for you. Not sure this is part of the regular services but with only 10 of 64 units sold, what else do they have to do all day?
I wonder if this will start happening (auctions) in some of the empty condos in lic and other parts of the city...
Seems to me it could easily happen in Manhattan as we get well into 2010 and many units sit empty. Banks are going to want to clean up their balance sheets. I'm guessing there could be some very attractive pricing down the road for some very nice properties. Keep your powder dry!
"empty condos in lic"
SAY IT ISN'T SO!
