Acrylic is safer if you (or your child) slips and falls.

Depends on how long you plan to live in the place. Many new enameled tubs are really cheap sheet metal with an enamel "paint job", while the best are old style "lasts 100 years" cast iron. Acrylic feels warmer, stays hotter and is marginally "softer" but eventually discolors and may get hairline cracks.

Acrylic isn't that great IMHO. I'd prefer cast iron, but some of the newer quartz resins are pretty good. That's what I have now, since cast iron wouldn't work where I am. Better heat retention and much less flex than acrylic.

CAST IRON CAST IRON CAST IRON!
Oh my gosh I have such strong feelings about this!
I'm assuming something that is not a cheap rental situation? For a rental property you own, acrylic is OK, because tenants are hard on everything and you're going to have to replace it anyway.
But acrylic discolors and does NOT look good after 5-10-12 years. (I am not familiar with quartz resin.)

Even a cheaper cast iron is better.
