Curious if anyone knows of a company that buys appliances? The previous owner installed nice, stainless range, fridge and microwave about 2 years ago. They are in excellent condition. GE range/microwave and Whirlpool fridge. We want to get rid of these and renovate the kitchen with top-end appliances. Thanks for any advice.
I am interested to know the answer as well. My condo comes with nice one year old Kitchenaid appliances, however the fridge is not counter depth. If we can find someone to take if off our hand at $1000 (new one is $1900), we will buy a new counter depth one.
I recall hearing of a charitable org that comes and takes them and uses them for poor people. There's always Craigslist, but then you deal with appointments, arranging insurance to get them in and out of the building, no shows, the hassles. You aren't gonna get much for them if they are used--take the deduction and try to donate them. In the scheme of a renovation, it isn't that much different.
Why not donate them and get a tax deduction?

I am interested in buying a new fridge. Can both of you e-mail me details about your appliances to viking292@aol.com I am serious about buying one and I will not waste your time. Thanks.

Used appliances??
You'll be lucky if you can find someone who'll take it off your hands for $200.
I've sold a 2yo dishwasher through Craigslist very fast, and efficiently. I would have donated, but it would have been more of a hassle (build it green). Don't try to be greedy and get 50%. You'll do well getting 30%.
Well I am not being greedy. The $1000 is just the highest number we would like to waste to get the counter depth comfortable. Otherwise we simplely will just keep it. It's a fansy $2000 fridge anyway :) Thanks a lot for all the advice!

There are used appliance dealers who will come, take them away, and pay you for them. but don't expect to get much (like 10 cents on the dollar for perfect condition stuff)
