Discussion about
So, this is a serious question. I'm trying to sell my condo, only a few years old, quite nice condition in a great building in Manhattan Valley. Frankly, I want the broker who is going to be the most aggressive. I mean, not someone who will bullshit ME to get the listing as I have good ideas on things now, but someone who will do more than the fair amount of bullshitting to the buyer including stretching as much as possible. Obviously a higher price benefits a broker but I'm willing to put in a kicker above the amount I think the regular market is but in return I want to know that the broker is pulling all the strings knowing that the broker works for me and not the buyer. Any ideas on names or otherwise are strongly welcome definitely.

He won't bullshit or stretch on anybody's behalf (no good broker will -- live by the sword, die by the sword) -- but I did very very well with http://www.halstead.com/agent.aspx?id=DCO as my agent on the sale of my condo a few years ago ... very aggressive in pricing, marketing and negotiation. Knows your area well.

Can you share the price point, and maybe narrow down the geography?

If you're in 272 West 107th, see: http://www.corcoran.com/agents/profile.aspx?userid=GTK&region=NYC

If you're in Ariel, see: http://www.brownharrisstevens.com/agent.aspx?id=LXL

Other excellent options for your neighborhood include:
http://www.corcoran.com/agents/profile.aspx?userid=DEK&region=NYC
http://www.brownharrisstevens.com/agent.aspx?id=JXP
http://www.halstead.com/agent.aspx?id=AMP
... and Streeteasy's own Nan Shipley

They all do more prewar coops than new construction condos, but that's largely a function of inventory.

I should add that I'm glad I went with an agent who has very few listings at a time, so my apartment didn't become just another bit of inventory on his "to do" list. As with doctors, "superstars" and "best in the business" seem like musts to avoid.
