If your like me and have no time or patience to set-up and design your new place. I highly recommend calling L&Z Design, www.lzinteriors.com (Zack tells me new site updated JAn. 15th). Zack came in and a few days later presentedme with colors, window treatments and furniture ideas all set to my predetermined budegt. My place was comfortable within a month. No-nonsense, easy to work wiht and great cources.
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Anyone out there looking for help drop me a an email: zachary_sosne@hotmail.com

Uh..., Zack, you forgot to logout after the first post and then log back in under another ID to make the recommendation look like it was from a customer.
Now seriously, WHY isn't there an INTERIOR DESIGN thread on Streeteasy? This is one of the most important aspects of owning a place. So I'm starting this thread.
i was given the info about the European people at Stakandesign (STAKANDESIGN@GMAIL.COM) and I am relally, unbelievably implressed. They work only in Manhattan and only by word of mouth, they don't advertise. They really transformed my own 2-bedroom and by now 3 apts. owned by my friends. They might have a waiting list but only for one month-long one. Any taste, any budget, on time, and fun.
Indeed, this never works. People can smell a self promotion a mile away, good luck with that.
benny you just lost all credibility. If that's a sample on how you operated you should not be trusted.
my new most favoritest thread.
Hi I would like to recommend this guy younti kamara. He's fantastic. He like an artist that can make your place look absolutely baeutiful
Well thank you spunky I really do appreciate the kind words. I am glad you are happy with my work.
Youni Kamara
i have this broker named Spazito Guarani.. he can do anything. sold my house for 25% above my ask, and then when the buyer cldnt get financing, he offered a bridge loan to him to get the house sold. amazing man.
Jenny, you are too much.. please.. i really try my best, but what i care about most is that we have a happy buyer and seller.
Wow, that's egregious. But seriously folks -- is StreetEasy going to have a "realtor reviews" / "mortgage broker reviews" / "contractor reviews" / "interior design reviews" function soon? As much as I'd worry about shameless self-promotion, there's got to be a better way to solicit and present legitimate feedback about real estate, design & renovation professionals online.
Anyone have any suggestions if such a site already exists (e.g. like an epinions.com for interior designers)?
hwmd - rating interior designers is so subjective. The tastes differ. The references I found on other boards (i.e., apartmenttherapy.com, etc.) turned out to be snobbish bland condescending types. I think Streeteasy provides the best forum. Self-promoters will be eliminated by the first interview. Like in any other field, one cannot fake knowledge and talent.
The guys I used (stakandesign@gmail.com) spoke with me about my tastes first, then my budget. Important: they are full-service, they use their own contractor, if needed. They gave me impressive sketches and endless choices, and they were fun. European sencibility, I'd say.
Zack (benny is his screen name) you may want to take a course or seminar on business ethics.
Wow....loved it! Check out Zach's website and watch the video clip. As soon as he opened his mouth, my heart went a flutter. I heart Zach the Power Bottom. If he wasn't in interior design, then I would have bet the rent he was in the hair and makeup field. Oh, and check out his 'beard' that won't let him sit on the bed during the day. LMFAO.
Love ya Zach.
A great starting point would be the American Society of Interior Designers here in NYC http://asidnymetro.org/
...and the next step would be word of mouth. Generally speaking, if you can afford to hire an interior designer you probably know of someone who's done the same so ask around. Interview each one, make sure you're both in sync re: style, budget, etc.
